A Gentleman’s Game

A Gentleman’s Game
RHGC Official Statement

Greetings fellow tabletop gamers.

For those of you unfamiliar with The Rolling Hills Gaming Club, we are a group of like-minded yet unique individuals who share a love for tabletop gaming in general. From the time of our inception back in 2002 we have been actively advocating the growth of the tabletop gaming community in the Philippines. We do our best to promote fair play, a welcoming environment, and camaraderie in the gaming community.

That having been said, we are certain that you are aware of the disappointing posts published primarily in the 101st Galleria Regulars Blog by someone who identifies himself with by the nickname “Mickie” and directed against the 2009 40K GT Best General Paolo Lapa. Based on his statements, he has been identified as Mickie Wong, a 40K player who frequents the Neutral Grounds Galleria branch.

While Paolo is not a member of the RHGC, we, nonetheless, feel that the comments thrown were done with extremely malicious intent. To compound matters, these accusations were thrown by someone who was absent both days of the 2009 Warhammer 40,000 Grand Tournament. The comments, to our mind, reflect strongly on the character of Mickie. We deem him ungentlemanly, uncouth and an ungracious loser in general. He has ignored the stern warnings of impartial members of the community and insists on continuing his misguided crusade.

On this note, we cannot, in good conscience, sit idly by while this personality attempts to destroy what we have been working for these past few years. This is an affront to the community and may stunt the growth of tabletop gaming if unchecked. After much deliberation, the core group of RHGC has decided to ban Mickie Wong from all RHGC sanctioned events until further notice.

Let us clarify that we are not doing this in defense of Paolo Lapa. We believe that, if his accusers have concrete basis for their accusations, then they should bring it up to the proper forum. We, however, condemn the manner by which this entire debacle took place.

We hope that you find the sanctions we intend to impose as both fair and provoked.

Hoping for your continued support,

Oberon
